Poverty Prevention

Hwb Ogwen can provide help and advice to Dyffryn Ogwen residence to help prevent poverty.

If you are struggling with the cost of living crisis and need advice, come and see us in Hwb Ogwen. We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm and can offer help with the following:

  • Emergency food packages of up to 6 items available weekly to anyone in need (pasta, rice, cereal, bread, milk, beans, prepared sauce). We can also refer individuals to a local food bank
  • Energy vouchers to those who meet the criteria
  • Advice on saving energy and making your home more energy efficient
  • Advice on benefits to ensure you are claiming everything to which you are entitled
  • Advice on household bills – water, gas, electricity
  • Help with filling in forms e.g. bus tickets, application for a blue badge

We also host regular drop-in sessions from Gwaith Gwynedd, Council on Everything (CAB) and Digital Gwynedd. Please get in contact for more information.
